About World Water Solutions

Bridging ancestral wisdom and modern environmental innovation to protect the most sacred element on Earth.

Who We Are

A Native-led nonprofit rooted in Hawai'i.

World Water Solutions (WWS) is a Native-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in Hawai'i by Rod Rodarte, a member of the Bad River Band of Chippewa Indians of Lake Superior.

We are dedicated to protecting, purifying, and preserving water as the most sacred element on Earth. We position ourselves as a connector between ancestral knowledge and contemporary environmental solutions — honoring both Aloha ʻĀina (Love of the Land) and Anishinaabe stewardship principles.

WWS exists to advance Indigenous-led, community-centered solutions that support clean water, sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and long-term resilience. We believe that underserved communities should have access to practical, affordable, and locally relevant systems that strengthen daily life while honoring culture, land, and future generations.

Our Story

Organizational History.

World Water Solutions began in 2019 as a vision for practical, Indigenous-led solutions to water access, food security, and community development.

The organization’s early work was paused during the COVID-19 period, but the mission remained active and was reactivated on August 25, 2025, with a stronger structure and a broader international outlook.

Since reactivation, WWS has focused on rebuilding its foundation, strengthening leadership, and preparing for grant-ready operations that can support both local and international impact. The organization is grounded in Native leadership and community service, with a growing footprint in Hawai‘i, the United States, Nigeria, and Africa. Our leadership team combines practical experience, cultural identity, technical skill, and long-term commitment to service.

Hands cradling a healthy plant and soil
Our Approach

Agro-Cultural Sanctuaries.

We develop Agro-Cultural Sanctuaries to create sustainable systems that address clean water access, healthy soil, ecosystem health, and community strength — all at once.

By weaving together Indigenous knowledge and modern science, each sanctuary becomes a living model of how people, water, and food can thrive in balance.
